About Peggy Palmiter
I think it’s important for you to know a little about me since I bring the stories of Underdue Social Services and Embracing Arms to this blog. I have a Masters and PhD in Social Work, and the following list gives you a small sample of the things I have done and care about.
- I am a baby boomer who was born in Western New York State
- I had a father who loved learning technology
- I received a Masters in Social Work in 1972
- I bought my first Apple IIE computer in 1975
- I worked with children and families for 15 years as a Child Welfare Worker, a Therapist and an Administrator.
- I learned about some of the struggles of the human spirit
- I received my PhD in Social Work in 2000
- I consult with nonprofit organizations on social media
- I joyously taught professionals and social work students for 10 years
- I owned and operated my own photo finishing franchise
- I learned what technology giveth, technology taketh away
- I love and live photography
- I work in design – print, web, photographic
- I log in to my 80 year old mother’s computer to help her learn
- I believe the salvation of any people is their ability to stay connected to the ones they love
I hope this information gives you a small window into my background and experience. I hope I can earn your trust. But it really isn’t about me. It’s all about telling the story.
